Our New Home!
With the help of an amazingly generous annonymous investor, we have temporarily secured our new home at 3120 Hwy 101 in Florence. The caveat? We are STILL seeking donations and writing grants to try to obtain the $220K we need to repay the investor. We still have about 1/3 of the building to renovate. We are on our way, but we are not there, yet!
At the C.R.O.W. Center for the Performing Arts, we will expand our program, and offer the children much more than a part-time arts education. This is where the magic will happen...

The front room of our building went from this.....
An interview on the local CBS Affiliate - KCBY with Melanie Heard, Artistic Director and Founder of C.R.O.W. regarding "Raise The Roof" campaign to put a new roof on the C.R.O.W. building!
Volunteers removed cement chunks to make way for new ADA plumbing. Prior to our renovations, there were no accessible restrooms.
Many walls were knocked down to make the space have an "open feel," which would allow space for rehearsals and classes.

The C.R.O.W. Center for the Performing Arts is not yet complete....won't you help us finish what we've started?
Renovations on the interior are about 2/3 complete...
The roof was raised 2 feet in the front section to provide a performance space that was more functional and versatile.
Grant funding allowed us to purchase new cabinetry for our kitchen/ catering prep area.
What's left to complete...? LOTS!
1) Renovate the back 1/3 of the building, which will include a green room, male & female dressing rooms, cast member restroom, and storage / workshop area. This area is currently unusable with bare cement floors and a whole lot of spider webs! Approximate Cost: $22,000 (includes labor, materials, electrical work, and plumbing)
2) Paint the exterior of the C.R.O.W. Center for the Performing Arts. It's just unfinished siding right now and City requires a licensed contractor to do the work. Approximate Cost: $4,000 (includes labor and paint)
3) Install a street sign with attached readerboard, so that passersby can see upcoming events, and C.R.O.W. can reduce some of our marketing burden....allowing us to put our focus on our young artists. Approximate Cost: $10,000 (installed)
4) Purchase materials needed to better serve our C.R.O.W. kids. These items include dance wall mirrors, overhead theatre lighting, storage and set construction materials, costume components, technical theatre supplies, 10 high quality body microphones for performances, educational materials, and much more.
A radio interview on KXCR with Jonathan Yoder about the current status of C.R.O.W.'s Center for the Performing Arts, as well as information on the upcoming production of "The Addams Family Musical."
