Dress Code

C.R.O.W. participants are required to wear appropriate attire for each class, workshop, or rehearsal. Dancers may not participate in dance classes while wearing regular/street clothes, except for Hip Hop.
Clothing with offensive logos, language, or graphics is not permitted at any time.
Participants who are dressed inappropriately may not be allowed to participate, and a parent/guardian may be contacted for pick-up.
GENERAL DRESS CODE:
For Spring Musical, Holly Jolly Follies, and other rehearsals, classes, events, etc.

Participants should wear modest, comfortable clothing that allows for unrestricted movement.

No open-toed shoes, flip-flops, bare feet, or high heels.

No restrictive clothing, such as tight-fitting jeans, skirts, etc.

Clothing should allow participants to move, dance, and rehearse safely.
DANCE CLASS DRESS CODE:
FOR ALL CLASSES: Dancewear should not be distracting, immodest, restrictive, or interfere with safe participation. No jeans or jean shorts. No offensive logos or graphics.
BALLET
Female Dancers

Hair must be pulled completely away from the face into a slick bun, secured with bobby pins and/or a hairnet.

Pink tights and Black leotard (any style).

A wrap or pull-on style ballet skirt may be worn in any color. No tutus.
Male Dancers

Plain white or black T-shirt or tank top.

Black shorts above the knee, black tights, or leggings.
JAZZ • ACRO • CONTEMPORARY • HIP HOP

Hair must be pulled back away from the face into a slick bun or ponytail.

Fitted dancewear is acceptable, including dance pants, leggings, shorts, tights, tank tops, half-tops, unitards, and leotards.

Hip Hop Only: Baggy dancewear and hats are permitted if desired. Street clothing may also be worn as long as it allows the dancer to move appropriately and safely.
TAP

Wear comfortable attire that allows for easy movement, such as leggings, T-shirts, or dancewear.

No jeans or jean shorts.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Wear comfortable athletic or workout attire that allows for unrestricted movement.

Bare feet or socks may be worn for this class.
RISING STARS - Intro to Dance for Young Performers
Female Dancers

Leggings or tights and leotard, unitard, skirt, or tutu. Can wear a T-shirt and leggings but strongly prefer dancewear.
Male Dancers

Non-baggy sweatpants, dance pants, or leggings and any color T-shirt.
SHOE REQUIREMENTS:
BALLET:
Female: Pink ballet slippers, canvas or leather. Split sole suggested.
Male: Black ballet shoes, canvas or leather.
JAZZ:
Properly fitted jazz shoes required. Black recommended.
CONTEMPORARY/ACRO:
Bare feet, half-soles, or dance paws.
HIP HOP:
Running shoes, sneakers, Converse-style shoes, or jazz shoes.
TAP:
Black Oxford-style tap shoes, lace-up or slip-on.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING:
Bare feet or socks.
RISING STARS:
Ballet slippers or jazz shoes preferred over sneakers.

Please let us know if you have questions or need to request a shoe or dance attire scholarship. Ask your teacher for assistance with checking our shoe recycling boxes for available shoes. Have dance shoes your student has outgrown or no longer uses? We gladly accept donations of gently used dance shoes to help other C.R.O.W. students. Thank you!
